Lead Service Line Inventory Update

8/26/2025

The City of Lyons is mailing letters to property owners who reported their service lines as Lead, Galvanized, or Unknown on the Lead Service Line Inventory Survey. Copies of these letters can also be found on our website at: https://lyonsne.com/lead-and-copper-report

The EPA’s Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI) will go into effect in 2027. Under this rule, all Lead and Galvanized service lines must be replaced by 2037.

If your service line was marked as Unknown, you are required to identify your line. This step is crucial in helping the City develop its replacement plan.

You will be receiving the survey again in the mail, but it can also be found online at the link below:

Important Note: If you mark Non-Lead on the survey, you must also indicate whether your line is Galvanized, Copper, Plastic, or CPVC.

If you are unsure of your service line material, you may contact the Utility Department to schedule an appointment for assistance at 402-870-7287, 402-870-1361, or email utilities@lyonsne.com
